Information for bushfire affected consumers
We understand the importance of having access to your phone or internet to stay connected to emergency services, access medical assistance, and remain in contact with friends, families and neighbours. For small businesses, connecting to phone and internet services is critical to continue trading, supplying goods and services and providing a vital network for members of the community. We recognise the financial hardship some of you may be facing after the loss and destruction of homes and communities.
Internet and phone service providers, small and large, have been responding to the ongoing situation with initiatives to support those affected. The help being offered ranges from direct on-the-ground assistance, to free calls, financial hardship support, credits on bills and direct access to help lines for those affected by bushfires. You will find a summary of the help available to you in the fact sheet above.
If you have an unresolved phone or internet complaint with your provider, you can contact us on our dedicated Natural Disasters phone line - 1800 046 686. We are here for consumers and small businesses to assist in working out what can be done to resolve their phone or internet issue.
