Help with privacy issues
Privacy rights matter because they protect your information from being misused or accessed without consent.
The most common complaints we see about privacy issues involve:
- information being shared or accessed without consent
- services being transferred incorrectly or without consent
- non-financial loss.
When handling complaints involving privacy issues, we may ask you or your provider for more information. This could include:
- the impact the privacy issue has had on you
- the cause of your information being accessed or shared without consent
- actions your provider has or has not taken to give you access or protect or correct your information
- what you told your provider and what you agreed to or understood.
We also take provider obligations into account, including privacy laws and telco-specific rules about account access and information.
