Statement on ACMA Federal Court action against Limni Enterprises Pty Ltd (formerly Red Telecom Pty Ltd)

12 July 2022

The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman welcomes the penalties awarded in Federal Court proceedings by the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) against Limni Enterprises Pty Ltd (formerly Red Telecom Pty Ltd) and its sole director Nicholas Kontaxis for failure to comply with Ombudsman decisions.

Ombudsman Cynthia Gebert said, “Our role as Ombudsman is to work with phone and internet providers to resolve complaints consumers make about their services. When these complaints cannot be resolved, we make decisions that telcos must comply with, and it is important that they do.”

When a telco fails to comply with the decisions of the Ombudsman the non-compliant telco is referred to the ACMA for further action.
