Help for people affected by bushfires

Ombudsman Cynthia Gebert says the recent bushfires have led to terrible destruction, but also show the strength of communities and heroism of first responders and everyday Australians.
“Our role is to help reduce the pressure on people by helping sort out phone and internet problems quickly and fairly. We’re ready to be a source of independent advice and help those who need it,” she said.
We advise you to talk to your telco first, and if they can’t fix your problem, or you are dissatisfied with the outcome, you can make a complaint online or call our Natural Disasters phone lines: 1800 046 or 03 8600 8308.
You can also ask your telco about what bushfire assistance is available. Some telcos are offering advice and disaster assistance to their customers like redirecting calls, data packs, temporary plan changes and connections:
