Statement from Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman regarding Optus Sport Subscription

Consumers who have experienced issues with streaming the FIFA World Cup using an Optus Sport subscription, should talk to Optus to resolve their complaint.

As the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman remit is to consider phone or internet services, it is unable to manage complaints about content, such as streaming services purchased through apps stores.

However, Optus customers who have a complaint about Optus Sport, delivered as part of their mobile phone or home broadband account can make a complaint to the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman at tio.com.au or by phone on 1800 062 058 if consumers cannot resolve their complaint with Optus directly. The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman will consider unresolved complaints on a case-by-case basis to assess any financial loss that may be suffered.
