Protections against unfair contract terms for small businesses

Currently, Australian Consumer Law protects consumers against unfair contract terms in standard form contracts. The government has committed to extend these protections to include Australian small businesses.

Complaint statistics January - March 2015

We recorded 33,141 new complaints from January to March 2015. While this is 12.1 per cent higher than the previous quarter, the number is still lower than the number of new complaints recorded in the same quarter in 2014 - by 8.6 per cent - or any other January-March quarters since 2007. 

Planet ISP complies with TIO determination

TIO member Planet ISP has complied with a determination issued by the Ombudsman in May 2014 to refund more than $5,000 worth of unauthorised international calls made from a stolen mobile.
