The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman receives complaints from consumers whose mobile numbers have been stolen by a fraudulent third party. This new Systemic Spotlight explores the issue and how the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman has worked with service providers to improve security and protect consumers.

The publication highlights how our systemic investigation power allows The Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman to identify issues with the telecommunications industry’s processes or practices which may cause detriment to residential consumers and small businesses.

By raising awareness and working with providers, the Telecommunications Industry Ombudsman drives improvements in service delivery which benefits consumers and the telecommunications industry.
