2012 Annual Report launched

Ombudsman Simon Cohen released the 2012 TIO Annual Report on Monday 29 October 2012. Consumers made 193,702 new telco complaints in 2011-12, a decrease of two per cent on the previous year. There has been a trend of reduced complaints from April 2012, with the last quarter of the financial year being the quietest for almost two years. This trend has continued into the new financial year.

Ombudsman presentation at the CommsDay Summit

On Tuesday 9 October 2012, Ombudsman Simon Cohen spoke to the CommsDay Summit in Melbourne about the revised Telecommunications Consumer Protections Code. The presentation ‘Minding and Bridging the Gaps’ provided some of the TIO’s views about the new Code.

TIO closed on Melbourne Cup Day

The TIO will be closed on Melbourne Cup Day on Tuesday 6 November 2012. All members should add an extra day to the due date for responses where Melbourne Cup Day falls within the response timeframe.
