Important privacy information from OAIC

The Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) has asked the TIO to distribute a letter from the Acting Australian Information Commissioner, Timothy Pilgrim, to our members.

The letter provides information to telecommunications service providers about their obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 (Privacy Act) following the commencement of the data retention scheme on 13 October 2015.
