Applications for data retention grants close soon

The Federal Attorney-General's Department has asked the TIO to share with its members some important information about the Australian Government's Data Retention Industry Grants Programme.

Applications for funding under the Programme close on 23 February 2016 at 5.00pm AEDT.

Please note: submission of a Data Retention Implementation Plan (DRIP) to the Communications Access Co-ordinator (CAC) does not constitute a grant application. To apply for a grant you must complete an application form available here.

Applicants who have submitted a DRIP but who do not complete the online grant application form cannot be considered for a grant.

The Data Retention Industry Grants Programme consists of up to $128.4 million to assist eligible telecommunications service providers meet their data retention obligations under the Telecommunications (Interception and Access) Amendment (Data Retention) Act 2015.

Carriers, carriage service providers and internet service providers undertaking work to meet their obligations may be eligible to apply for a grant.
