Publication of complaint statistics
The TIO publishes quarterly complaint statistics in its newsletter
TIO Talks. It publishes annual statistics (including year-on-year
comparisons) in its Annual Report. This webpage provides summaries
of both quarterly and annual complaint data. Further explanation and
analysis of complaint statistics is available in the TIO's 2009 Annual Report and in the TIO
Talks newsletter.
Definition of 'complaint'
The TIO definition of a complaint is: ‘an expression of grievance or dissatisfaction about a matter within the TIO's jurisdiction that the provider concerned has had an opportunity to consider'. A complaint does not include a request for information. Requests for information about the TIO, enquiries about TIO members, and other enquiries are not included in complaint statistics.
Complaints against TIO members
Since October 2001 the TIO has published the details of complaints
made against TIO members (for members with 25 or more complaints
logged against them in any given reporting period). These annual
statistics are available in the TIO's 2009
Annual Report.
