Each year, the TIO attends dozens of community events across Australia to raise awareness about our work. We share information about how we help resolve complaints between consumers, small businesses and their telco providers.
We also host visits from international delegates, who come to learn about the TIO’s operations, for possible application in their countries. Recently, a delegation of six people from the Indonesian Ombudsman visited the TIO on Monday 18 May.
David Brockman, Executive Director Industry Consumer and Government, and Roni Parlindungan, Policy and Research Officer, hosted the delegation.
David gave a presentation on the TIO’s community engagement campaigns, in particular our outreach to Indigenous Australians and to culturally and linguistically diverse communities.
Roni, who speaks fluent Indonesian, translated for the event, which was much appreciated by the delegation. The delegation visited Australia under the auspices of the international section of the Commonwealth Ombudsman.
