Public comment invited on TCP and Operations codes

Communications Alliance (CA) has asked us to inform TIO members of its invitation for public comment on the draft revised Telecommunications Consumer Protections (TCP) Industry Code and the corresponding package of industry codes and guidelines.

CA has advised that the TCP Code has been revised in light of the Government's deregulatory commitments. The revisions also take into account the principles of the Framework for Customer Information Provisions document, developed by the Customer Information Committee, which includes representatives from the Australian Communications and Media Authority, Communications Alliance, industry, the Department of Communications and the Australian Communications Consumer Action Network.

Other CA operational Codes and Guidelines that contain customer information requirements were also reviewed in light of the above activity.

The public comment period closes at 5pm (AEDT) on Monday, 3 November, 2014.
