Maintenance charges

The functions of the TIO do not extend to complaints relating to the provision or supply of customer premises equipment, other than a non-switching (rented) handset that is connected to a standard telephone service. Therefore, complaints about the billing of maintenance charges, such as for commander-style equipment, lie outside the TIO's jurisdiction as the underlying equipment is privately owned.
